Meteor Htc Hero Prices

As mentioned earlier, Meteor are to launch the HTC Hero on the 1st Nov. An anonymous employee has now shown me the unknown prices for Connect 25/20 in the Meteor system.

On the Connect 25/20 it will be €159.99 for customers moving from PAYG & €129.99 for porting your number from another network. Other bill pay prices are still not visible on the meteor system & are not confirmed yet.

Meteor are also offering a €30 discount for your old phone, assuming its in good condition and has the original charger.

Apparently new bill pay customers will be getting 250mb free data for the first month.

The standard 10% discount on accessories applies.

On launch it will only be available in white and will come with a 2GB memory card.

Touchscreen Mac, Apple Tablet? Is this them on the way?

Last week I was informed by an anonymous Apple employee, at Apples European HQ in Cork Ireland, of a new touchscreen mac that will be made available to certain employees. No official confirmation of this by Apple but during the past few days there has been substantial shipping consignments to the Cork facility. These shipments have been accompanied by a security detail who were not too happy when I snapped a few pics of shipment arriving.

Could this be the touchscreen mac or parts for the rumored and highly anticipated Apple Tablet?

Finally it has arrived. Meteor are realeasing the Hero on the 1st of november for €399 on Prepay and from €99 on bill pay. The price of the phone comes as a disappointment to both bill and prepay.
The hero is available for the same price sim free on many uk & european sites.
After Christmas, it is expected that the price will become free on bill pay and drop to 300-350 on PAYG.

O2 & Meteor options...

With the recent announcment by meteor that the HTC Hero will be available shortly, iv put together a comparison of the O2 iphone & Meteor bill pay options.

Keeping it short and simple, Meteor wins hands down.

Meteors lowest contract option (18 months @ €20) 200 mins 200 texts is huge compared to O2 €45 a month for 175 mins 100 texts, 1GB data & 1 free option.
For €45 on meteor you can get 500 mins 500 texts.

O2 does include 1GB data but Meteor will give you 250mb for 4.99 or unlimited data for 14.99.

But do remember that your getting an iphone with O2 for €200 on the cheapest bill and a Hero with meteor, which currently cost approx €400 sim-free. An iphone costs €800 sim free.
Meteors' Hero price is yet to be announced.

Meteor hasnt gave any indication if they will offer special plans or deals for their Hero yet. Lets hope they do.

Meteor to get the HTC Hero

After much drama on the Meteor.ie forums, an advert has appeared to register your interest in the HTC Hero. Its the only official notice meteor has posted so far. This appeared a few days after meteor let slip on their forums about the Hero coming in November, the post was promptly removed and the thread deleted. Some dedicated fans of the hero have been pushing meteor to make an official announcement since then. Today that has happened.

Rumours that the Hero will be available for €50 on contract started circulating shortly after the original meteor slip up.

Here is a link to the forums in question

Let hope that the price will be reasonable.
